First Grade Math
In first grade math, we began work on Unit 6. Students began by reviewing 10+N strategies. Later in the week, we played a new game using our review strategies to help us learn how to add onto 9 and 8. Students read number story problems and learned to identify key vocabulary needed to identify the operation used to solve each story. Students used number racks to model and solve these stories.
Math Menu
The first graders enjoyed some fun new games that helped us review and practice ways to make 10. This week we played Make 10 Bump and challenging by fun new strategy game. In the next few weeks, student groups will be reorganized up based on our winter benchmark data.Classroom Celebration Time
Our class has been working on quick, quiet and safe transitions from one activity to another, cleaning up quickly and following our class meeting expectations. On Friday, we met our goal together!! We are excited to celebrate with donuts and cocoa! On Monday, we will plan the day and time :)
