Playground Maps
X Marks the Spot Challenge
Today we spent time drawing and labeling our WES playground map! Students drew our school grounds using a "bird's eye view", labeled important parts and marked a special spot. Later, we hid yummy treats for our Big Buddies in that special spot. Our Big Buddies read our maps, and found the treats.
Here are some pictures of the Waterville and Belvidere town map we created. Students build tiny model houses, learned their addresses, and placed their houses on our map. We learned to identify gravel roads, paved roads, rivers, streams and much more!
