The Week of April 11, 2022

Happy April Break

April 18-22

Cooking in the Classroom with Ms. Meghan

Here are some snapshots from our cooking lesson with our Farm to School Coordinator, Meghan! She led our class in cooking apple-cheddar-bacon pancakes. Students chopped, mixed and cooked, and did a great job working together! I hope you can all try making the recipe with your student at home! We really enjoyed adding some delicious maple syrup as a finishing touch!

Readers Theater Performance

On Friday, the first and second graders wrapped up their unit of study on Folktales from Around the World with a fantastic readers' theater performance! We missed some of our friends who couldn't be with us, but many students took on new roles and filled in where needed. Here are a few pictures Mr. Braun snapped for us. Thank you to all of the support from first and second grade families, teachers and support staff who helped make this a positive experience for all!

Spotted Salamander

On Thursday morning, we welcomed this beautiful creature into our classroom for a few hours. Students observed, sketched and researched to find out more about this animal. It was awesome to see our students use their nonfiction reading skills to gather more information!
