Preview Day

Thursday was a fun and exciting day! Our AMAZING second grade student leaders and I welcomed our new first graders. Together we played a get to know you version of hot potato, did a classroom scavenger hunt, read Mrs. Spintzer's Garden and created our own vegetable for our class garden next year.

Mrs. Day will be moving to the Kindergarten position next year, and we are searching for an amazing new teacher to join our team! The 2-3 class met their new classmates and explored the classroom together. Ms. Epstein will be communicating with 2-3 families as soon as a teacher is hired.

A fun preview day was enjoyed by us all, and we are looking forward to a new year together here at WES.

Books in a Series Poster Project

This week, we began our last reading project of the year! Students really enjoyed drawing their favorite main character from their series book. We will add some important details about our characters during the last week of school!

First Grade Math
We wrapped up our final Number Corner calendar activities for May. Students solved add /subtract 10 and 1 equations and figured out what our friend Tad the Frog was looking for... can you tell what he found? A dragonfly! Students worked on completing their math assessment and played some of our favorite " Hall of Fame" math stations.

Juniper Creative Final Project Complete

Earlier this year, WES students worked together to create beautiful images that were added to this colorful mural! Our class worked on adding flowers, hummingbirds, stars and crescents! Community members worked together to paint this mural, and Mr. Mike Bean worked to display the mural. Thank you to all the people who created this beautiful piece.
